Get to Know Timmy Richardo

Dr. Timmy Richardo is a postdoctoral scientist in the Department of Innate Immunity at the University of Tübingen, Germany. His current research focuses on the role of chitin in innate immunity. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Applied Science of UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he was funded by the UCSI Foundation scholarship. He pursued his master's degree at Shimane University, Japan, investigating the role of Epstein-Barr Virus in gastric carcinoma. During his master's studies, he received several scholarships, including the Otsuka Toshimi Foundation, Hashiya Foundation, and Honjo Foundation Scholarships. Before continuing his PhD in Germany, he worked as a Biomedicine lecturer at the Indonesia International Institute for Life Science (i3L) in Indonesia. He then completed his doctoral degree in Infection Biology at Hannover Medical School, focusing on a Herpes simplex virus project, funded by a DAAD Scholarship under the Hannover Biomedical Research School network.
